That was too short... did anyone else feel that? I thought it was too short.
Brilliant, as always, but too short!!
At least now we know that Vade used sheaths. But I'm happy that Orinakin talked some sense into him and that Vade abstained... not that he would have been able to do anything anyway, considering that they went back to Orina Anoris just like that.
Xio Voe getting to know his siblings was just . It still bothers me to hear his brothers and sister call him 'your highness'. I mean, it's respectful and all if you're at a public function, but they need to learn to be more relaxed around each other. In time, perhaps.
*BIG HUGE SQUEAL*
“That sounds very pleasant,” Remin said quietly. His tone was calm, even, but Kudorin felt the yearning in his heart.
“He’ll be here soon,” Kudorin said.
Remin glanced at him, wondering.
Kudorin just felt the love in the room, and smiled. THE GOLD BOOK IS NEXT, THE GOLD BOOK IS NEXT!!!!! HE'S TALKING ABOUT HOW REMIN'S LOVE WILL BE THERE SOON!

*squeeing along with Vani* Gold Book! Gold Book! Remin gets to fall in love! I just hope the courtship is slightly abbreviated and the wedding is planned swiftly so Remin can have sex as soon as possible. I'm so glad Xio Voe is back in Orina Anoris. I can't wait to see what Kudorin's engagement gift to him will be. And...is anyone else totally drooling at the thought of Xio Voe in a razeic fur skirt? 'Cause all I could think when I read that was "easy access." So Vade is realizing that he needs a lot of sex. I think he needs to talk to Remin about this. It sounds like an important personal development. And I adore that told Bade to stop saying "slut" because he didn't believe in that word. I love how simple and complex Anorian sexual mores are. Favorite snippet from this too-short (but aren't they always?) chapter: They’d been separated for a mere few days, they’d kept in touch throughout, they’d seen each other repeatedly, and here Xio Voe, helplessly responding with the eagerness of an ill-trained puppy. His breath had quickened, his heartbeat was much faster, he felt an overall sense of hot, tingling, physical, emotional, psychosexual excitement. And a sense of relief, of satisfaction. I love how Xio Voe articulates things in his mind, how he reasons out falling and being in love.

Vani, did you hear that? I can't be sure because I was all , but I thought I heard someone talking. It had a pessimistic edge, but...nah, it musta just been the wind.

Was that the wind blowing through this topic??? The GOLD Book! The GOLD Book! I thought I heard that. I was when I read that too. So yes, though Matthew likes messing with our minds Liz, Remin REALY REALLY needs some skin on skin sex. S'all I'm saying Poor guy doing is fine but is much more satisfying. I was relieved Vade and the gang were using sheaths. And I can just imagine the conversation that will be happening between Vade and and Vade and the Bela's. That's going to be a fun read. One last thing... Xoe Voe + Ean Bridegroom attire =

This bit gave me the warm fuzzies “You know,” Kudorin murmured, watching the Emperor, “he loves Xio Voe more than he loves himself. More than he loves his wife.”
That didn’t entirely surprise Anikira, but it bothered her. “He should demonstrate that. It’s not the sort of thing that should go unnoticed. Can’t you imagine how different Xio Voe would be, if he knew? If he’d been encouraged to feel it?”
“Hmm.” Kudorin tugged on a lock of her hair. “Then you plan to be the sort of parent who communicates her love to her children?”
“Yes,” she said, meeting his eyes with laughter. Coming from a deity, all of Kudorin’s question were rhetorical. Some more obviously so than others. “I do. I’m eager to love our children, and to share my love with them.”
Returning her smile, he tugged her hair again, lightly.
“All of our children,” she added softly, embracing him. “All of your children.”
“He’ll be a good parent,” Kudorin said. “To all of our children. I wouldn’t marry him if I weren’t sure of that.”
“I know.” It would be a challenge, but she looked forward to it.

Yea just because he said “He’ll be here soon,” doesn't necessarily mean Gold book is next but I sure hope it is.

Just trying to inject a little dose of reality here. After all, I've already had my heart ripped out by this series - so its someone else's turn now.

I know what you mean. This series has put us through a roller coaster ride---in a good way---so we know how cleverly twisted Matthew is. Although it does put a bit of hope in me since I also want the GOLD book to be next. Xio Voe finally back with Kudorin!

Maybe he should get married. No one would say anything about the amount of sex he had, if it was with his husband.
But what was he going to do, marry a bela? No one person, no one man, could give him everything he needed. And his father would not, ever, in his lifetime, permit him to marry a bela.
He wondered how long he could go without getting married. Now that Bade had Orinakin, he could probably take as long as he wanted. Which was a blessing, just another reason to be grateful. Because once he got married, there would be no more Jacacean orgies. No more Anorian belas. Just him and some guy his father chose for him and his right hand.
Ugh. That was just depressing. Unless you marry an Anorian prince, of course. Then you could have Selorin and forty five belas. The dukot are going to have a field day with your penchant for being dominated, Vade. I can't even imagine how much the sulatim are going to adore you.
