Xio Voe putting up with Eleita's hugging was funny...but not without his... hmm can't think of the word, but he was definitely using it to his advantage.
The princess hugged him enthusiastically, cooing about how happy she was for their love for each other. While he would’ve preferred not to be embraced, he bent slightly to hug her back, knowing that a slight against Princess Eleita was ill-advised. Overall, it was good to have her immediate support.
And his comments on Kudorin's behavior:
“I’m the best he’s ever had,” Kudorin said, grinning.
Xio Voe’s eyes narrowed. I haven’t exactly had you yet. Don’t get ahead of yourself.
Snickering, Kudorin dared Xio Voe to say that aloud.
You have a very adolescent sense of humor.
And his desire to become and Anorian priest:
“Would it be possible for me to become an Anorian priest?”
Kudorin stared at Xio Voe, still only vaguely comprehending. “You want to become an Anorian priest?”
